Remember Pangpoo? It is a small sightseeing spot in Samutprakarn owned by the army. This place was popular since I was the very small child. In the old days, Bangkok people went there for lunch with the dancing ball room on Every Sunday. There were also some small bed rooms at the end of the building which were two walking path wings spreading into the sea, for renting and spending the night. The building at that time, if my memory was right, was made of wood.

I always drove there when I was in twenty to thirty years old. It was the place I could drink and had fun with friends. I used to go there with a cambodian girl and her mother too. It was one of my memory. Many times, more than 30 years ago, Our Department of Agricultural Extension organized the National Conferences of farmer groups or the Farm Youth[4H] at Sawangkaniwas, which was the convalescent home for the Red Cross Patients, this place was near Pangpoo. When I joined the Conferences, I was sure to end up at Pangpoo for having good times when we were free from works.

I went there again a few days ago, the building style looked the same but now it was made of concrete. There was no bed room for rent at the two walking path wings but there were the meeting rooms instead. The restuarant were in the rooms and on the two path wings. The middle of the building was still a ball room for Sunday Lunch Dancing.

It was still a good resting place and the food price was reasonable comparing to other restuarants. If the traffic is not heavy like Sunday times, we should visit Bangpoo, the sea view suburb of Bangkok. The nearest tourist spot there is Ancient City. Chavalvut Chainuvati
