Dear Beat,
I heard about your examination of your small and large intestines and found a thumb size and several bean size tumours on the large intestine wall. It was good they were cut off but you have to be patient about it. I know nothing about controlling this case but you told me the doctor recommended you to do as same as I have been doing daily. I would like to repeat again what I have done in daily life. They are :-
1. Drink water after waking up in the morning. I drink about a bottle and a half or about 1.25 litres. This push me excrete rapidly but I have to urinate very often within 3-4 hours after drinking.
2. Take vegetable and fruit. Fresh green vegetable contains chlorophyll apart from vitamins, calcium and other elements. Some scientists recommended us to drink grind vegetable juice, I think they wanted us to have chlorophyll. Orange vegetable such as carrot, etc, have beta carotene which produces vitamin A. For fruit, I have 4 bananas, or lots of other fruits after dinner. I can not live with out fruit in the evening. The scientific source say that we should have atleast 400 grammes [or half kilogramme] fruit and vegetable everyday for reducing risk of digestive system cancer.
3. No more meat except fishes. I take shrimp, lobster, squid, octopus, clam, mussel or oyster once in a while because they are high cholesterol content. One egg a day should be OK but I have one in a few day. Salmon may not come from the deep sea but a farm, I do not care about it. I am interested in chub mackerel[Pla Too] with shrimp paste sauce and vegeables.
4. If it is not necessary, don't eat too much processing food from manufactures. Fresh food are saved and rich in nutritious diets
5. I take two herbs now, they are turmeric[kamin chan] and horse-radish[ma ruum]. Besides, I take vitamin B complex tablet twice after breakfast and dinner.
6. Eat brown rice. The nutritious value of rice are in the husk.[as same as apple, mangosteen and other fruits] A part from viamin B1, there are other elements. The important substances are Gamma Oryzanol, Gamma aminobutyric acid, Inositol, etc. Besides, the rice fibre helps in digestibility and excretion.
7. Exercise every day. I walk in the morning and do other exercises, then if I have time, I will walk again for an hour after dinner.
I have back bone, brain nerve, ears, and eyes deteriotion, besides, I also have histamine allergy, high level of Low density lipo nucleic acid [LDL], and other diseases. The dozen medicines have been in my prescription quite long. Therefore, I tried my best on my nutrition diet and exercise and one day I dream of living without medication.
Beat, do your own ways, this is only a case for your studying. I still have a lot of health problems. A part from my behaviour, I also have to blame my sins I commited long time ago. Now it is time to pay back. Please re-read it carefully and think of your own. Boo, Chavalvut

Sanamchan Palace, Nakornpatom, STORY BY MY LENS
On November 21th, 2009, Central Department Store by One Card Programme conducted the photograph lesson for the customer member. There were about 34 participants who mostly were female. The range of ages were between 25-40 but I am 64, the oldest.

Starting early from Central Chidlom, we went to Woodland Resort by Nakornchaisri River for the 2 hours lecture on basic photography and having lunch. The lecturers were Khun Nitikorn Graiwichien, the President of the Photograph Association and Khun Tach-cha Ratanasakdi. After lunch, we proceeded to Sanamchan Palace for the afternoon practice. Before taking off to have a shoot, we received an honour from Khun Gawita Hongsakul to talk about the history of the palace. As I remember, the palace was built about a hundred and a few more years ago by King Rama VI, while he was the Crown Prince under King Rama V. At that time, there was the invasion of the powerful countries to the eastern region. The King initiated to build the palace out of the city for the strategy to overcome the problem. Nakornpatom was a good place because it was not far and the communication was available.

Khun Doughnut, a movie star and our programme speaker. Khun Doughnut was a member of participant and her picture taken was shown to our last session for the criticism. She had a good talent in idea.

Woodland Resort in front of our lecture room. The scenery was like the countryside whereas it was only one hour drive from the city centre.

Walking path along side the river. The water tide was high in the 12th month of the Thai calendar.

Nakornchaisri River was zoomed for the opposite river view. It was still the farm land

Group picture in front of King Rama VI palace. I was standing on the right. This was one of my best time and I enjoyed practising shooting. Not forget to mention that this was the full day course, free of charge, serving to the customers.

The front view of the palace where the King lived.

In memory of a dog, named "Yalay" He was the most beloved dog of the King. When he died, the king was to build the statue for reminding. He was a well trained and tamed dog.

The building looked very western. Our king studied aboard and spent many years in Europe. In front of the building there was the window, looked like the place where the king looked out for the soldier marching. Our king was the commander in chief of Thai Military.

My camera was Canon 450D from Power Buy with the price of 24,000 baht. But the trainers told me that the best pictures could come from any one, DSLR, compact or even the mobile phone camera. The story of the picture was how we took, how much light from the scene and camera. The qualified image depended upon technique and art.

My first practice, I tried to use manual mode to control the shutter speed and focus number for light. the slower the shutter speed, the more vibrate the camera. We might use a tripods for slow shutter. Also, the depth of field or calling f-number was the hole to receive light. The smaller the hole, the higher the number, the picture was deeply clear. If we wanted to focus only one flower, we might change to lower f- number by which in this case, the picture was clear but the background was blurred

I calculated light by light meter in the camera and enjoyed looking at it. Until, my group instructor told me that I should mainly use mode Av which I could control only f-number. The shutter speed could be automatically adjusted by the camera. He said that the news reporter even used only P-mode [Professional] which was semi automatic. They needed the fast taking for the good timing incident. Then I tried Av mode and the picture quality was better.

For the Professional mode, ISO was the sensitivity of image sensor[a place in the camera to record pictures] ISO should be high in shade or dark and lower in sunlight. The high ISO could make the grain broken appearing in the picture when we enlarge it. The best way was to lower ISO or turned to automatic mode except when we wanted to take a night scene.

White balance. WB. It was the mode to control colour in the picture. Shade, daylight, tungsten, fluorescent and cloudy. The natural colour was examined by looking at the situation, daylight-white, cloudy-light blue, shade-blue fluorescent-green and tungsten-yellow. If there were shade and day light mixing in the scene, we changed to automatic white balance.

Single shot and continue. Usually, the single shot was always used, but, in case of the object moving such as kicking the ball, continuous shot gave us to select one good picture from many. In this case the photographer could catch player touching the ball. When we watch any performance, we might like to set the continuous shot too.

Spirit house. This one might just be built, it looked new to me. However, it looked match to the scene, beautiful Thai design

Poultry pent in the stream. They looked lively in the palace park. Natural decoration

Thai style Building. The house was made of wood and looked comfortable to live in

I tried to take against the sun light. How it looked.

Beautiful view of the building connected bridge over the pond. Every one took pictures in this direction

Wooden Building. Since I was young, I have seen a lot of building like this. Now it was hard to find one in the city. But there still be in the countryside.

Every where, the palace had to be furnished with park and trees. We are nature and belong to it. Everytime, being in the park, we are able to have a good rest.

This could be our souvenir of the old day and our ancestors. I was glad coming to see all here.

Windows were decorated in Thai style. They were our art and matched this building

Beautiful window as well. It suited to the warm climate like Thailand. Look at the wood. They were hard and strong.

I and Mr. trainer of our group. He recommended me to use Av mode instead of manual. He was a professional. Other young lady, Nina was a member sitting beside me on the bus from Bangkok.

Trees were green. Colour of nature. I tried the tungsten mode, it was beautiful but it was not natural colour

Beautiful view, I repeated taking pictures in this area. The walking bridge reminded me when I was in the kinder garten age at Wattana-witayalai School. There was the walking path between the building. It was my memory of the first school in life.

Quiet road. There were many tourists today, but before taking this picture, I was waiting until the area was free. It was easy to take a picture of the surrounding environment. But my pictures were so common, they were not lively.

I saw this tree since I was young. But I forget it's name. I was not sure if there was a fruit.

Tree with the roots around the trunk. These aireal roots make tree looked older. This spot could show the tourists particularly the foreigners. Green natural park of the palace.

Other member of our group were actively taking pictures. I saw everyones enjoying it as well as me. Surprisingly, how to get a good picture to show.

Picture of trees and shade. I thought it was beautiful to look at the contrast of light in the nature scene.

King Rama VI was a founder and the first commander of boy scout in Thailand. I was a boy scout when I was a student. I used to join the mourned marching and singing a boy scout song once to pay respect on his dead anniversary, November 25th. at King Rama VI Monument, Lumpini Park. I remember everything about boy scout including camping. This statue was King Rama VI in his boy scout uniform.

Other view before the end, it was late in the evening and I had an appointment to go to a wedding in Bangkok. How I could manage it.

Last picture with other beautiful view. They were always beautiful in the evening and at the end of the session. We would like to stay longer.

The second place runner up in the contest which was the last session in the programme. The compact camera was given to the 2nd place winner .

The third place, he got the picture printer as a prize. Good job. And,

The first place. The winner got a good compact camera.
I saw the pictures in the contest and I never thought of these ways of shooting. It was a kind of art. I had just taken pictures with the simple action, standing or kneeling. Later, I must adapt myself to the art style.
Thank you very much for the one card programme staff. This was very fruitful to my furture camera use. I will take all the idea with me when I go out shooting. Need not to say that, I have been the honest customer of Central department Store, Power Buy and One Card. Saying that I go to Central everyday and buy everything there. One thing I doubt is the car parking charge, it is so expensive for the retiree to stay in the longer hours like me. Thank Mr. lecturers, trainers and all staff for making the day very valuable. I met two friends there too. Nina and Ple [a staff] Chavalvut
The first place, black and white. Look like a place in dream.
The third place. The building behind the foreground, around by the trees. The intension of the picture was looking deeply to the building
The second place. The tree and the building roof. The component of the objects were balance. If I remember some criticism

Beautiful Sunday, Nov. 8th,2009
On Sunday, there was the Ornamental Crops Open Market at Kasetsart University, by the Conference Hall. It was the small exhibition and only 10-20 nurseries participated. I lived near by and we wanted to look at plants, at least I could take some walk. I did not buy anything because most plants I like were expensive. If I had bought one, it would have died after too much caring.

Some kind of crops were regulated by the government or the international agreement. They mostly were rare or less remain cultivars. When we buy some plants, asking for the regulation and how we follow them.

Plants mostly are beautiful. But it depends upon how we decorate them. Therefore, there are the garden management career which are popular in the cities.

Not only beauty to look at, we must be careful, don't touch them if you are not certain about chemicals. Some are dangerous. I ignore any chemicals at home eventhough, we used chlorinated hydrocarbon for termite protection when my house had been built. Now, no more chemical at home, even mosquito sprays are also declined.

Chemical fertilizer is different. it saves. But we have to use it in the right way. Organic matter must be rich in soil and chemical fertilizer will work effectively.
Bearing in mind that optimum use of fertilizer can be done by soil and leaf analysis. Or, apply it to plants little by little.

Water spraying is a part of plant care. Optimum water leads to healthy growth and flowering. Plants absorb water by root tip. Therefore applying water to soil is the right way

Plant is the symbol of beauty, love, and life. Everyone love plants. Some plants offer odours, good or bad. Some plants are recognized as herbal medicine

Plants are nature. All lives are also nature. Why man must acquire being in or with nature

When human pre-history evolution, we were part of the jungle and spent lives there. Nowaday, we still have distinction with nature being, men grow plants around them. Besides, plants is the agent of breeze, moisture and carbon gas reduction

Man is born, grow up, become adult and die. In this life cycle, man has feeling, hearing, seeing, chewing, smelling and thinking

Plant is a life but can not move and feel as man do. It grows up by metabolism of some elements, respiration and transpiration. The same threats as happen to a man are diseases and pests.

When plant dies, it is just cleaned away. Some plants live much longer than man. They usually are big plants. It may be a fact to say that, plant which creates beautiful flowers may not live long. Like human?

Moreover, Thai people believe that there are some god spirits in some plants. They pay respect for them. Some people worship plants for bringing luck and safety. Some people make a wish for the lottery number.

On the highways or the country roads, we are able to see plants with some flower laces and joss sticks. These are the images of Thai belief in spirits.

When we went to attend the funerals at the temples, in the air conditioning room, I was able to smell flower odours. These smell impressed me. When I got these smell any where, I would think of the funeral ceremony. I never want to deal with it and don't want to smell it. It was a sad event.

We walked through the ornamental crop display tents, stop for taking pictures. I was a new learning photographer. DSLR camera was completely different from my old compact one. I was not used to operating it.

At the flower open market, I met two professors who taught me in the university between 1964-1968, long time ago. They looked healthy and were in active brain in technology. I paid respect to them but was too shy to admit that my technical knowledge have been sent back to the professors I learnt from. My brain recently has been deteriorated. Don't tell anyone.

But I met an other junior friend, he was working for the radio broadcasting and public relation. I was happy he was still recognized and talked to me. I asked him if I could take some picture here. He said yes. And these, they are the pictures taken there, from a beginner.

That day was a nice Sunday morning. It was cool. The place was not too crowded. There were many colourful flowers and graceful performance plants. Only bad view in my idea was they were expensive. There was no free gift.

About half an hour afternoon, I hurried back home. We had other programme in the late afternoon

Stopped to buy lunch on the way home, I drove and waited for my wife to do the job. She bought a hot vegetarian for me. Hot again but delicious.

About 3.00pm, we left home again with my wife, sister, grand nephew, driving by Nong Bim, my son. We went to visit a housing project near Suwanapoom Airport. And then, my wife suggested us to go to the sea for sight seeing. That was Bangpoo.

Bangpoo at sunset.
Lots of birds flying for food. I thought that these birds came from the North to get away from winter and then getting back when the winter ends.

Nong Bim took us to the new place called Bangsan II but I told him if we wanted to see the Army Bangpoo Air Baths Place to bring back memory. I came here since I was a little boy. The place might have been built before I was born.

When I was a child and then grew up to be the young man, this building and bridge were made of wood. I came here for resting and drinking There were few rooms for rent spending the night here

People still enjoyed coming here. It was crowded on Sunday. It was not far from Bangkok. I came here a few month before and showed some pictures in this blog if you turn back to look at them.

We had dinner here and ordered sea food. Price was not too high because it was operated by the army. I think I will come here again for a change.
