I know how hard to get the chemistry degree

When I was a student, I had never liked chemistry at all. It needed good brain of memory and calculation. In laboratory, we had to follow the rules strictly, otherwise, our experiment would not been successful. But I had to take 4 courses of chemistry in my professional curriculum and now chemistry is a major part of my life and works.

Nan and Nat had come to stay with my sister which was my neighbourhood. Moreover, they studied at Kasetsart University where I graduated in 1968. They had the same experience with me. We are the university brother-sister. Last week there was the practising of degree certificate presentation ceremony for KU. They graduated Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry. I congratulated them and took some pictures with them on the presentation eve.

The young man and young woman in the pictures was Nan's and Natji's friends but the aged lady and the boy in the pictures were my sister and grand nephew. Nan stood on the left and Natji on the right.[taller girl] I am in the yellow shirt.

When I was in the graduation day in 1968. It was the most wonderful day in my life. At that time, I thought I was completely adult and started my life with pride. Not many people in those days got the degree from the university. I started working not long after graduation because it was not hard to find a job. We made a choice for the job we like to work for. But recently, there are not many choices for the new graduates.

HARD HARD HARD TO GET A DEGREE FOR ME.
As a matter of fact, it was very hard for me to get the degree. As I told you, my brain was not good. I had to read the books twice more than my friends. So, I was proud of Nan and Natji for the graduation, particularly in chemistry. I hope they have their own good lives by their talents.

When I worked at the beginning, I was the heavy drinker but in the day I got the certificate, I was free from alcohol and very happy to take pictures with friends. I waited for my parents to come and took some pictures with me but they didnot show up. They must be busy some where. Finally, when I had already received certificate from HM the King, my parents called me at the back stage. I met them at last.

Knowledge did not come with the graduation. My first stupidity when I worked, I was too proud and thought that I knew better than the others. But there was nothing I could do or thought of. I was looked down by the farmers. I found that, my first education from the university was only for the foundation giving me to gain more experience in life. Degree was not knowledge but degree was the equipment to dig knowlege from experience. The more I could work, the more experience and knowledge I could get.

When I was just graduated, I thought about not coming back to study again. No more education, time to have fun in life. I had no design to study more. But after working for 3 years, I really voluteered to apply for the master degree. I learnt that, I did not know how to get a lot of things in the world to my brain. Need more education. Unfortunately, I didnot complete this course because of hard working and did not know how to start with the thesis. However, I got the experience and used them until the retiring. To repeat agian, education is the life long and everyday activity. It is for the change in life, idea and behaviour. We can not stop learning whereas the world is changing.

I hope that Nan and Natji had a good lives. They would study more I believe. Education builds brain, memory, and idea. One thing I would remind them, education is not only factor to make life a success. There are other factors such as self confidence, friendliness, good willingness, positive thinking, honesty, poliiteness, etc. However, when they work for a while until feel ineffectively and need to be refreshed, they may come back to study again.
