Election Campaign

There was an election campaign at Rachaprasong Bangkok on the evening of June 23th. Pee Vinai Chongsomjit asked me if I would like to go with him and I said yes. My desire was to go to the Shopping Centres around that place to see or to be surrounded with people. Besides, I wanted to see the atmosphere of the one of those campaigns being organised by political parties


This one was organised by Democrat Party, the oldest party in Thailand. They used the area of Rachaprasong becuase they were accused to be the murderers of 96 bodies on the occasion of the red shirt demonstration and chaos clean up, this was happened almost a year ago. They just wanted to re-explain to the public. I have already believed them.


The campaign site was on the large area in front of Central World where the people come for the count down on new year eve every years. This picture was taken in the evening while people had been waiting for the programme.


On that day, traffic was not so heavy. The people who used to pass this place might have avoided to other routes.


They were Thais, each of whom owned a vote and would do it for the nation on next fortnight Sunday.


Just waiting. By the time they were waiting, we went in Central World for the set of Fish Burger. Then the rain showered down for a while, making the air around cooler, people looked happy to have some small rain


Many camera sets were ready to be shot. It should be the interesting event tonight.


Lots of people. I believed that Thai people were clever to make decision. I did not know if they came here voluntarily or some ones took them.

Raised their hands for cooperation.


The announcer was telling the content and detail of the programme


Changed my view to the beautiful sky-height buildings


Until 8.00pm, I thought it was time I headed back home.


It was late when I walked back but people kept coming. I wondered why they'd like to come, they were interested in listening to the speech or just only participating in the active group for pleasure.

We walked back through the sky walk to Siam Paragon and Siam Discovery to get to the car parking near by. I really enjoyed seeing people and listening to a part of their speech. I do not know if this party is able to win the election but I have impressed their political performance since long time ago. There are not many good politicians in our country but in this party, there are some ones whom I accept. Good luck. I'd vote for them.

Party's policy again

Last night [ June 17th] I watched an interview about Bangkok Sky Train[BTS] Policy on TV.
It was the debate between 2 parties who were running for the election. The first party offered the one fare [20 baht] project for the whole routes which could cover all the paying sum and the grasses root people could afford to use the sky train, but the other party said that one fare was not worked out because we had to cover all the expense since building the projects, maintenance and adminstration. The price shoud be a small increasing rates up to the distances.

From my experience, I have never known if there is any country use one fare for the sky train or other city trains except with the very short route such as mono rail. On the other hand, I learnt that there were one day, three days, 5 days or a week tickets which are the compliment to the customers. If we bought a one day ticket, we can take the city train including city bus or ferry boat as the links to and from anywhere and anytime in the whole day. As the same, the 3 days to one week ticket are used in the whole length of days which are limited.

I would accept the idea of not fixing price for the fare. Anything if we can not do in the future should not have set as the policy. Otherwise, it is a lying promise to the people. When they are elected [they are elected because they are lying] and get to the government seats, they have to find the reasons to get away from what they have said before. Remember, not all people in Bangkok take the train, there are various transportation in service up to the situation. If one have time and want to save money he can take a bus. Some take taxis, or a walk if the distant is near. Therefore one fixed fare for the sky train is not necessary. On the contrary, please make to whole route fares as cheapest as the project can do, and the rate for the small children and senior citizens

Politics, it's a hot issue now.

Now, it is not too long to get to the election day in Thailand, July 3rd, while the
4th of July is the independent day of USA. People can guess what is going to happen and who will be elected to be the prime minister.

As being the citizen, we wish Thailand to be well developed, rich of facilities which make the society happy and peaceful, such as good roads, adequate doctors and hospitals, people are well educated, and jobless percentage is minimum. These facilities must be in the policy of the political parties who want to run for the government. I, myself, on behalf of the taxes payers, the big part of my income, want to see Thailand modernized with the best systematic social structure and people are happy with optimistic attitude. We don't like to see the poor by whom government has to support endlessly. And, government has to spend a lot of money, particularly cashes to the people in different situation such as natural diasters, disease out break, or other personal investment.

Look at the policy of the political party, some of which might be exaggerated. The sudden policy is to increase the minimum income of labour from 250 to 350, and reduce tax from 30 percent to 22 percent for the compensation of wage increase. The problem is tax reduction of 7 percent is the annual account calculated from the profit which usually is about 20-30 percent of the investment. If a firm gets profit of 5 million baht, they could get 350,000 baht from 7 percent of tax reduction back. While the minimum wage is daily account. Look at the balance, if the firm has 30 labours, they have to pay for wage increase 3,000 baht a day, if these labours work about 200 days annually, they have to pay 600,000 baht more. This is only for the comparative figure, I don't know how many labours there should be for the firm of 5 million baht profit. Seeing that tax reduction can not cover all the expense.

Later, the concept of getting more taxes whereas the income tax was reduced, that is " the more money the labours get, the more they would spend, the money would come back to circulate in the market for the taxes collection." This is not always possible. The labours are able to eat the same amount of food, wear the same clothes, and live in the same places. Therefore, it can be the expectation of tax collection but no one can guaruntee the outcome. Let them save money which they are able to gain more for their future.

From this logic policy, they could gain more votes because the labours now are waiting for 350 baht after if the party could form the government. From this matter, some firms such as IT, service industries, etc, are able to get profit from tax reduction but there are no labour wages to bear. Actually, for the over all of policy this party has shown, I like their idea and they are so great. But, I don't know how to implement these policies into practice. It's a hard job.

It is a good idea to consider the policy and analyze the possibility before voting. Don't emphasize in personal profit but what the community and the whole nation gain. This is why we have government for.

A minute of pain

Yesterday afternoon, I was walking at an office in Kasetsart Campus. There was a small building which the roof corner was as low as my forehead level, it was on the way I had to pass. I had to step down by the stairs to the lower path and then the roof was on the next step. While I was walking and looking down to the lower path and thought of something. Suddenly, my forehead was attack against the roof loudly and I fell backwardly down. My left leg which had already some pain was bended to the back and the pain was increased rapidly at time. I thought I could have lost my leg. A few officers saw this incident and ran to me for help. After getting back home, I had to massage my leg with very warm water to relief the bad pain. Luckily, I went to a massage girl today and she said that there was not any serious broken muscle inside, just only swelling.

I just got angry to myself, I always look down to the ground while I am walking. My head attack other objects once in a while, nevertheles, when I walk, still look down to the ground, my shoulder bend down that cause my head down, and my mind is not in peace. These are why I don't see the objects in front of my head. Hurt, hurt and hurt.

As a matter of fact, to think positively, I was still luckier than some of my friends. I just got some pain but some of us got cancer, diabetes or heart disease, etc. Why do I have to complain. Just practise my walking and try to look straight now.

I believe in Karmma or " sin" , which are the bad things being done long time ago and return back. I believe I had also committed some bad things before, then they showed up and returned. A lot of bad things happening to me make me remind of bad behaviour in the past. Therefore, not only trying to be happy but I wish to win Karmma or the sin coming to me. Presently, I try to practise good things such as giving, loving, positive thinking, and forgiving. Any one want to take advantage from me, I'd let him do it. Wish for one thing, survival and have my family safe.
